1. Mandatory Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO)

Every employee authorized to clean or service the machine must have their own lock for the power source. This prevents accidental startup while someone is working on the blades or the intake area.
2. Guarding All Pinch Points
Conveyor belts, pulleys, and exposed auger flights are major “pinch points.” All drive components and rotating shafts must be covered with bolted, tamper-proof guards. Even if a machine looks simple, never operate it with a missing guard or an open inspection hatch.
3. Emergency Stop (E-Stop) Accessibility
